Day Twelve: "Balloon Stomach"

Today was awful.
Now I have gastritis. And just to give you a little idea of how that feels. Imagine someone putting a balloon in your stomach and then blowing it up to its maximum potential. It does not feel too great. I was doubled over in pain for a good 2 hours. And my stomach was sticking out the farthest I have ever seen. I promise I am not exaggerating. It was like I needed to burp (x's 80) but couldn't. The girls in my class probably thought that I was insane.

I felt lame but sometimes you can’t help it. I was so upset I even called my dad at 5 am. Sorry Dad. I love you.

To make matters worse we were at Versaille. I was so excited to go and then I felt like this. Not to mention we were about 40 minuets from Paris. My poor professor had to sit in the restaurant with me as I sipped mint tea and gingerale.

I am so tired of feeling this way. UGH.

I started to feel better around 3. Not good. But better. I was able to capture some pictures of Versaille and let me say it was absolutely amazing. I also learned some pretty interesting stories. For one. The King and Queen had public bedrooms. So everyday they would have an audience watching them wake up. I know how beautiful we all look in the morning too. On top of that, the Queen had a public birth as well. This means that essentially anyone could come watch her in labor. I assume giving birth to royalty was a big deal because they would literally stand in front of this bar for a free view.

Still sound like the fabulous life? Oh and you know that thing called your wedding night? Well the King would check on his son and new wife to ensure that they were uh…how do I say this… “doing it right”. That way, if they were unable to have children in the future, it was surely not because they were having sex the “wrong” way. Hmm. Interesting.

Regardless, the details in the palace were unmatchable.
Spacious rooms.

Gold trim.
Crystal chandeliers lined the halls and enhanced the rooms.

There were the most beautiful ceilings I have ever seen—each one telling its own unique story.

The palace and garden were enormous.

There was a theater and a chapel. Both unlike anything I have ever seen. My roommate and I agreed we would get completely lost living in such a place.

Now I'm sitting in our living room...if that's what you want to call it.
...First apartment pic.more to come.
Relaxing. Eating rice-take 2 (the first bowl I made was undercooked) and applesauce. Watching movies on youtube. Oh and munching on some of these guys.

My roommates are all out shopping right now. But I needed to relax after the rough day. Tomorrow I hope I feel better enough to join them. An intense day of shopping is planned. Followed by a self-guided trip to the Lourve. Again!

Hope I'm up for it all!
