Okay I have got to make this short. 5:30 am wake up call for Antwerp tomorrow morning…enough said.
Today was pretty much spent wandering the streets for a good 4 hours. The normal. It doesn’t old.
I came back excited for a nice shower, only to realize that we have NO hot water. I admit openly that I cried. Tears were flowing from my eyes! That’s how miserable it was. I could not feel my feet…or any part of my body for that matter, It better be back tomorrow or I am going to be dirty for the next two weeks. Just a warning.
And tonight we went to the opera.
I will admit that it was difficult to follow considering I had absolutely no idea what they were saying. However the theater was stunning. Every piece of architecture I see here in Paris just gets even more and more extravagant. Even more interesting is that this opera house is actually what Phantom of Opera was based off of. You could see the resemblance from the movie clearly. See…
What I also loved was how much the French appreciated the opera. They were all leaning in trying to see, clapping and yelling “Bravo!”. There were very few Americans there, which made it a truly cultural experience.
I look like I fit in, right?
We did only stay for the first hour. It is apparently 4 hours long and we were not up for it. Especially with the early wakeup call and the fact that our seats were not exactly in prime location.
Oh well, it was another once in a lifetime experience, so to complain would be pitiful.
Bonsoir Paris, Hallo Antwerp!
You look GORGEOUS in this picture :)
