We went on a LOOOOOONG bus ride today. We stopped at the Eiffel Tower again. Saw some churches and palaces and statues. See below. Pretty cool until…
We hit the Parisian suburbs aka the“French Ghetto”. Okay that’s being a little overdramatic about it. In any case, it was certainly not the Paris we were all used to seeing. We went to a flea market.
Now don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against flea markets. They most certainly have unique finds and vintage pieces…if you are willing to seek them out and you have the knowledge to decipher what is legitimate. I can somewhat understand paying $700 for a new Chanel handbag, but I cannot even comprehend an old Chanel handbag that has already been used, worn, and essentially seen its days.
We did not get back from the tour until 5:30 and we left at 10am so it was again a very long day. When is it not though? Immediately after, we naturally stopped at our favorite Boulanger. I got a Baguette Noix.
I’m still taking it easy on my stomach:( Today I ate plain pasta, a demi baguette noix, some saltines, and ready for the adventurous food of the day—boiled carrots. I am feeling better but not 100% yet.
As for our trip to London…it does not look like it’s going to happen. Honestly though I am somewhat relieved. Since I do not deal with stress and last minute plans very well, it was almost a weight off my shoulders. London will just have to be my next destination of travel.
We currently have a list in the workings of how to spend our free weekend—I feel as though a lot of the girls are staying here anyways.
There are some pretty cool window displays I’ve seen in the high fashion stores. I love how each brand has its own image and vision. Lanvin however was my favorite. However Hermes’ decadent display was pretty close behind.
(Lanvin)
(Hermes-That's all macaroons on the table)
Tomorrow we go to the US Embassy. I think it will be pretty interesting, though I know a few of the girls are dreading I think its important to know about the political relations between your own nation and others around the globe.
Also, I have A LOT of work to do. Figures. Not looking forward to that part so much. Oh well if I’m going to do homework, at least I’m doing homework in Paris!
Sounds like you're having a great time- I'm sorry you won't get to go to London, but I'm sure you'll find a lot of fun stuff to do anyways!! Love you <3
